Your blog brought up an experience I had re...Lisa,
Your blog brought up an experience I had recently that I would like to share....for me it strengthens my belief in the power of the drums ability, combined with my heartbeat, to see and feel truth when fears are present.

Everytime I have walked within a castle grounds, at some high point I would feel a weakness in my legs. I thought perhaps an ancestral story of my own but never considered the connection of possibly belonging to the land?

I recently visited Cennen castle (Castell Carreg Cennen.) I felt called to take my drum with me.
When I went into one area of the remains the sensation in my legs grew. I left, warily and sat within the grounds.
I hadn't known at the start of my day that this was the reason my drum had to come. But I knew at this point that I should drum there and then.
I sat drumming and eventually, drum in hand walked towards the lords chamber where I had felt the weakness, nervousness (or sensation...whatever it was...)I felt my heart beat grow stronger and this time I was able to stand by the edge of the building and look down. No fear present, no sensations no nothing except my heartbeat.
It was a powerful moment for me to realise that I did not need to feel this. I felt strong.
Next time I visit Llansteffan castle I shall take my drum and see how it affects my climb of the turret. I make myself climb it everytime I go to try and overcome this sensation. Now I know with my drum I shall have a new experience again. I am sure.
I am not sure how well my experience translates on the page but for me I have to agree that the best tool I have is my drum. It has truly helped me.
Your blog brought up more for me but for now this is what I feel called to share.
Love
LeanneLilihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07624557781876903457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6912321843321447366.post-91613540881672454252011-12-07T21:18:20.120-05:002011-12-07T21:18:20.120-05:00Thank you Kimby for catching my mistake. I felt called to run my hand over my drum and then continued as the whole experience became quite intimate. After words I wondered where this came from and why. I have recently been working on a process and after the experience with my drum I found myself going back to the realization of my mistrust and how it was the root of my issues/process. It is interesting to read this blog post and to connect the dots. Thank you Lisa

SerenaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6912321843321447366.post-21096339731878846502011-12-07T17:54:09.004-05:002011-12-07T17:54:09.004-05:00I love to walk barefoot in my back yard. A doctor I used to go to, told me that recently it was found 'scientifically' that the connection with the ground, through our bare soles (souls?) had a measurable electrical effect. I already knew it grounded me (lol). It turns out it is also very good for one's blood pressure. Of course, I do it less in the Winter time. But I can go downstairs into the basement and walk barefoot on the cement, It isn't quite as satisfying as walking, soulfully & mindfully, in the back yard, but it still helps a bit.
I love the feeling of intimacy with Our Mother as I send my love down to her. It is one of the acts of love we share, profound and reciprocal.
Interesting blog, Lisa.Jackienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6912321843321447366.post-16941132395471668102011-12-07T13:21:21.254-05:002011-12-07T13:21:21.254-05:00Absolutely fascinating! I love this idea of being intimate with nature, it never occurred to me that doing things like that was an act of intimacy or that you could take it further. The way the tree responded to you is pretty incredible...Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02335627965504673440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6912321843321447366.post-29630145574815930632011-12-07T07:41:08.686-05:002011-12-07T07:41:08.686-05:00Kate was actually the one who posed the question a...Kate was actually the one who posed the question about Intimacy. However, its something I'm currently looking at. So I find it very synchronistic that this would be the topic and I would be mentioned in it!
