Part 1 - Indigenous Dreamer

From ROSE: I would love for you to describe your life as a Dreamer... Maybe a post along the lines of 'A Night in the Life of...' Would love to hear about your experiences within your dreams and how it all works for you and what you do with it... What a great question! One that I plan to answer through two blog entries. ***** PART ONE. I recently read an article written by Dr. Peter Reznik (an expert on stress management) who said: “children start dreaming around the age of 3 years old.” I found the statement somewhat misleading especially since I remember quite vividly dreaming as early on as 6 months old. After having two children and empirically studying dreaming most of my life – I can vow without a shred of a doubt that children dream as early on as birth. Perhaps they can’t verbally share the dreams with us; but there’s no doubt they are dreaming. Like I’ve said in many other blog entries on the topic of dreaming: – Dreaming isn’t so much a trick of the mind a...

Dreaming one Baby Step at a Time!

Last week I had to meet my husband at the bank to sign some papers relating to the purchase of our new house. I remembered the two last times we bought a house and how nervous we were with our finances. This time it was completely different, I felt surprisingly relaxed and detached when the bank manager welcomed us at the door. She looked down at my foot and crutches, and gave me a wince as if to say: “ouch that must hurt, and I don’t know what to say.” I smiled and made my way to one of the chairs in her office. You could tell how uneasy or how uncomfortable this lady was. She struggled with breaking the ice; with getting to the point; with making basic business requests; and with putting an end to the exchange. She made basic mistakes like “repeating herself continuously” even after we stated: “Got it!” Or, ignoring our repetitive questions because she didn’t have the answers; or didn’t want to get herself in trouble somehow. She evidently wasn’t ready for our appointment beca...

Living to the Beat of Seven Generations

Since Fall we’ve been shopping for a house. To date we’ve visited close to 85 homes. The last time we bought a house, almost 8 years ago, we went roaming a neighbourhood we liked and found exactly what we wanted and needed right away. Not only did we dream of the house a few months before hand; but we seemed cosmically guided to it all the way to the front door. This time it seems more difficult. The Sacred Circle (Medicine Wheel) teaches us that life is about movement and along this spiralling lessons are handed to us with the help of specific natural or cosmological themes; which bring about personal healing and personal growth. Eight years ago we searched to find a home; which could benefit not only our family but a whole community. For the first few years we learnt what it meant to commit to community and what it took to manifest it. Lessons and sychronicities followed us closely. Finding a house to suit our vision was the easy part. Devoting and manifesting our dream was...

Dream Walking.

BY TED JAUW. Here is Ted's new BLOG. http://surcadiana.blogspot.com/2012/03/rest-of-story.html Have been reading and rereading the blog entry, http://wapeyit.blogspot.com/ it's both informative and nicely written. I particularly enjoyed the Jack Palance reference. One of the things I noticed here (on FB) and in general is that people use popular terms like ' lucid dreaming' differently depending on where they learned it. Ofttimes these words have been coopted from sciences or spiritualities. It seems that new words need to be minted just so we don't have to unlearn what we already believe. My teacher called lucid dreaming, 'awake dreaming' and meant that one was aware and able to consciously go about. She also said that some could not only travel about in their 'own' dream but change and control the environment. 'Dream walking' is the word she would use to talk about the ability to go into other people's dreams and 'piggybac...
