Spirit Names

Posting by Serena Winterburn: Hi Lisa,
I have been wondering about Spirit Names. I was wondering if this could be a topic for a blog? ·
I was wondering how or why we have spirit names?
 ·       What is the purpose?
How do we use a spirit name?
 ·       What is the difference between a Spirit name and say a dreamers name? ·       How do we journey with them and why? ·
How do we find our Spirit name? You gave me a Spirit name from the dreaming at the very first workshop that I attended here in GP. I have now translated it into Cree and learned how to say it in Cree; but I am not sure what to do with it now (LOL).
I also think about the girls and their spirit names: How could I find theirs out? I know that there was potential for it to come from the bone dance for Ava; but I don't think anyone picked it up. I realize that I have a lot of questions about Spirit names and hope they inspire you to write a blog entry.

Breath of Mystery

It’s difficult to give a workshop on the topic of mystery mainly because mystery isn’t supposed to be defined.  Still this past week, we were in Grande Prairie, Alberta exploring, experiencing and learning about the Mysteries. With the help of the Medicine Wheel, ritual and dreaming we not only got a good understanding of the mysteries but also an empirical impression of them.  There’s nothing more tangible then balance when we are struggling with imbalance; the same way that silence is easier to understand when our mind is exploding with noise.  One of the great things about Mystery is that it plays around with duality and paradox.  The Universe seems to always know how to communicate with us.  Synchronicity and repetitions are definitely the basis of the cosmic language.  This past week we were lucky enough to observe duality, paradox, synchronicity and repetition in action.  Mystery is often link with invisibility or anonymity; and yet, when invited to play M

My trip to Las Vegas.

I recently got back from Las Vegas.  My daughter was traveling to Sin City for a Hairdressing Symposium and my husband and I decided to tag along.   For several weeks before our departure I dreamt all kinds of scenarios relating to the city.  It’s usually the way for me.  It seems I always travel the World from two different dimensions:  Dream and waking reality.  Yet, to be honest the realms share many similarities like the landscape and the actual impression of the area and the people. I’ve often heard Las Vegas compared to Sodom and Gomorrah (cities from the Old Testament of the Bible).  Whether we are exploring Sin City of antiquity or Sin City of modern times – it basically refers to humanity exploring the notion of sins and vices; which often refers to shopping and gambling (money); sex; and food and spirits (food/alcohol / drugs / and ego).   I don’t think I’ve ever watched a movie that’s about Vegas; which doesn’t mention the motto: “ What happens in Ve
